This is a picture of me and my then six-month-old son Jack. I can’t say my journey towards happiness and self-discovery began with him but it took on a new sense of urgency after he was born. I want to be a good father and maybe help him avoid some of the struggles that I experienced. But in order to help my son I needed to help myself, and in order to do that I needed to help others as well. This led me ultimately to get my Masters degree in Psychology and I’m currently completing my fourth and final year at the Institute of Core Energetics.

I work a lot with people who struggle to identify and process their emotions in healthy and constructive ways. Some of us don’t know how to express anything other than anger because that is what we’ve been taught. Anger usually conceals deep sadness and fear; emotions some of us feel less comfortable expressing. Alternatively some of us bury our anger because we were taught that it’s dangerous or unattractive. We put on a happy face or prefer to express our sadness instead. In my sessions we may explore these unwanted emotions and bring them into the light so we can see that they are often not as scary as we think…
